Center Street Students Host “Senior Prom”

On May 29, the Center Street Service Club (aka The Kindness Crew) hosted over 120 local senior citizens for their annual prom event, a celebration of intergenerational bonding that helps bridge the gap between generations and brings the community together for a great time!

Searingtown World Culture Day

On May 21, the Searingtown PTA hosted World Culture Day which gave the students the opportunity to travel around the world without a passport or even leaving the school gym!

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, our teachers and social workers at Center Street, Denton Avenue and Searingtown spent a week raising awareness around mental health with the theme, All Feelings Are Okay and teaching students that it is what we do with our feelings that matters.

BOE Recognizes Retirees and Student Representatives

At the May 23 meeting, the Herricks Board of Education recognized 24 members of the Herricks staff who will be retiring at the end of this school year and three outstanding students who served as our Board of Education Student Representatives.

HHS Senior Kyra Chan Honored with Award

The district congratulates senior Kyra Chan who was honored with the Students Building Bridges Award by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island (JCRC-LI). Kyra was presented her award at JCRC-LI’s annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration on May 7 at Adelphi University.

 HMS Hosts Collaborative Choral Concert

On March 19, Herricks Middle School hosted a collaborative choral concert featuring Hofstra University Chamber Choir, Herricks High School Chamber Choir, and Herricks Middle School Chamber Choir.

Chamber Music Society Regional Semi-Final Concert

On March 21, three chamber music ensembles from Herricks High School performed in the seventh annual Long Island Regional semi-final concert as part of the Chamber Music Society (CMS) of Lincoln Center's Young Musicians Program.

Students Attend English Scholars Program Retreat

On March 22, Herricks High School English Scholars Program students in grades 9-12 attended the 15th annual English Scholars Program (ESP) Conference and Retreat with six professional writers at Hofstra University.
