DECA State Career Conference held this past week from February 26 to 28. Seventy Herricks DECA members attended the conference held in Rochester, New York. Students competed against other NY DECA members to try and reach their goal of making it to the International Career Development Conference. The following 14 students have been declared as state winners and will advance to the next level of competition which is held in Nashville, TN in late April. This annual state competition is one which is rich in tradition and is an excellent way to expand the member’s professional network and develop necessary skills for the future. We will also have two students competing at the International competition based on their report of the practices of the the High School School Store (School Based Enterprise).
The students that are advancing from this weeks competition are as follows: Yasmeen Gilani, Gunreet Grewal, Greshma John, Karan Kaknia, Preethi Krishnamoorthy, Carolyn Lau, Lauren Levine, Priya Shah, David Zhang, Jacqueline Manetta, Rikhav Shah, Lamiya Rangwala, Nishi Shah and Emily Tucker.
