HMS Supports Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park

The sixth grade annual Community Service Read-A-Thon project concluded our Kindness Week in the middle school.   Thanks to all the parents, students and community members who supported our fundraising efforts to help provide relief to families who depend on the services of the Ronald McDonald House in the midst of their child’s medical crisis.  The house provides a home away from home for families with children who need serious medical attention from Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center.  This year, the sixth grade raised close to $12,000 with the generosity of families and friends who sponsored our students!

We received another beautiful plaque in appreciation of our continuing support.  Our current student body has donated over $30,000 in the last three years through this Read-A-Thon  community service project.  Please stop by our Ronald McDonald showcase outside the library to see our display of plaques in recognition of our work over the years.  Thanks again to all of our families, students, community members and staff for supporting the Ronald McDonald mission.
