Herricks a Top Ten NYS School District

The Herricks Public Schools have been ranked the 8th best school district in New York State by Niche.com; a significant boost from last year’s 16th-place standing. A total of 670 schools were considered, and Herricks fared near the top of the list with an overall A+ Niche grade. When looking only at Long Island schools, Herricks was ranked 5th.

Herricks received A+ marks in academics, teachers and college prep, and A grades in clubs and activities and health and safety categories.

According to Niche.com, the district achieved these rankings by scoring highly on a variety of factors including test results, teacher quality, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores and more.

Herricks holds high placements on other Niche.com lists as well, and fared well on other lists released this past spring. Herricks High School made the Washington Post’s list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools, ranking at No. 203 in the nation, No. 9 in New York State and No. 6 on Long Island. On U.S. News and World Report’s list of Best High Schools, Herricks stands at No. 9 on Long Island, No. 33 in New York State and No. 213 in the United States, and holds a Gold Medal Award
