Annual Personal Best Breakfast Awards

Annual Personal Best Breakfast Awards

On May 25th Mrs. Caryn Krucher, along with the Guidance Department at Herricks High School, hosted the Annual Personal Best Award Breakfast for 9th grade students. Thirty students from the freshman class were honored with the Personal Best Award at the breakfast.  These selected students were nominated by their teachers as having truly put their best foot forward this year while transitioning to high school.  Teachers and faculty were asked to nominate one student who they felt has shown their “Personal Best” throughout their ninth grade year.  By Personal Best we mean, students who have set an example for their peers, demonstrated a high level of respect both in and out of the classroom, have a positive attitude, are highly motivated, hard working, and an overall asset to their classes.  While traditional school awards are based on academics, sports, art, music, etc., this award is presented to those students with a positive outlook on school and simply outstanding character. The first year of high school is a difficult transition, to say the least.  These students have not only made the transition from middle school to high school look easy, but they have done it with class!  The breakfast was a great success.  “These are special kids who truly make a difference each day they come to school.  Their strong character will take them far in life,” commented Mrs. Krucher.  Congratulations again to our winners:
