  • Yamile Saied Mendez, Denton Author Visit

Thanks to Denton librarian, Mrs. Deodato, Denton Avenue students were fortunate to speak virtually with visiting author, Yamile Saied Mendez. Ms. Mendez writes fiction stories for the young and old. During her virtual visit the students listened to the author share her memories from childhood.  Yamile and her family moved to the United States from Argentina. There were many challenges for her as a young writer as she tried to learn English and make new friends.  She gave Denton students plenty of tips during her live question and answer session, as she talked with them about the writing process.
