  • Herricks Musicians Earn 15 Awards, Including Nine Gold with Distinction, at NYSSMA Majors

    Herricks musicians triumphed at the 2019 Nassau County NYSSMA Major Ensemble festival, held from May 20-22 at Hofstra University. Fifteen of the district’s musical ensembles participated in this event, where they were evaluated by highly skilled adjudicators and received awards that reflected their talent, dedication and many hours of practice.

  • Herricks Cellists Perform for Retirees

    On Tuesday, May 7th, a group of 6th grade cellists visited the Herricks Community Center to perform for an appreciative audience of retirees. Coached by Krista Weis and Geoffrey Stone, this talented group performed a group of Baroque pieces by Bach, Handel, and Telemann.

  • Herricks Valedictorian and Salutatorian Secure National Merit Scholarships

    Herricks High School seniors Eish Maheshwari and Sahith Vadada have continued their success streak for the current school year. The Class of 2019 valedictorian and salutatorian, Eish Maheshwari and Sahith Vadada, were recently selected as winners of National Merit Scholarships. They will each receive a $2,500 scholarship.

  • Herricks Excels on Italian Exam

    Students in the Italian program at Herricks High School participated in the annual American Association of Teachers of Italian National Exam. This year, Marco DeLellis, enrolled in Italian 2, won a two-week educational trip to Italy, including $500 and another $100 for placing at the 99th percentile amongst all students who sat for the Level Two Exam.

  • Three Choirs Festival

    On Saturday, April 6, Herricks Middle School's Chamber Choir performed as part of the Oyster Bay Three Choirs Festival, sponsored by the New York Chapter of the American Choral Director's Association. The festival took place at First Presbyterian Church and Christ Church in Oyster Bay, where Theodore Roosevelt was once a congregant.

  • Herricks Heads to National Level for History Day

    Herricks High School and Middle School triumphed once again at the National History Day State Competition, held at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown on April 29. After presenting their excellent work, several students will now head to the University of Maryland for the National Competition from June 9-12
