On May 31, Honors Ensembles from Herricks Middle School participated in the Long Island Music Festival at Suffolk Community College.

The Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble, under the direction of teachers James Ludwig, Geoff Stone, Mark Bennet and Alicia Brown respectively, performed and participated in a clinic where all groups received a rating of Superior. The adjudicators were very impressed with the high level of musicality of all four groups and shared words of praise and comments after each performance.

After the festival, the group headed to the Long Island Adventure Park in Wheatley Heights, where music students and teachers enjoyed a well-deserved day of fun climbing trees and rope ladders and speeding down zip lines!
