Herricks High School’s All-State students made the Music Department proud during their participation in the All-State Music Festival. They traveled to Rochester from December 5-8 where they enjoyed rehearsals and performances that celebrated the best in music education.

The annual festival, sponsored by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), is considered the highest honor a school musician can attain in New York State.  Students had the opportunity to play under renown conductors from all over the country.

Congratulations to Nicholas Quan (Jazz Lead Trumpet), Edwin Ko (Jazz Alto Sax), Sharath Venkatesan (Tuba), Anderson Wang (Clarinet), Kloie Liao (Percussion), Constantine Cheung (Cello), Julia Lam (Violin) and Andrew Simons (Violin). These students are members of the Herricks Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Chamber Orchestra

In addition, congratulations to Zixuan (Vivian) Tong who was selected into the NYSSMA Piano Showcase where she performed among the top 10 students in the state. Vivian is a member of our Herricks Chamber Choir.
