Herricks HS Cello Trio Competes in Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society Competition

On March 6, the Herricks High School Cello Trio competed in the regional semifinal of the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society (CMS) Young Musicians Program competition.

This prestigious event, held at Great Neck South High School, featured performances by nine small chamber ensembles from across Long Island who were selected based on the strength of their video submissions.

The Herricks Cello Trio is comprised of seniors Constantine Cheung and Albert Kuo and junior Adam Chu. They performed a piece entitled “Maktub,” by Spanish composer Andrea Casarrubios, from memory and with incredible showmanship.

Select groups from each regional semifinal will be chosen to perform at the final performance of the competition at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center in May.
