The district congratulates the cast and crew of the Herricks High School production of “Damn Yankees” who hit it out of the park with three grand slam performances from March 14-16.
“Damn Yankees” tells the story of a middle-aged baseball fanatic who is convinced to trade his soul to the devil for a chance to live out his dreams and lead his beloved team to a World Series victory against the “unbeatable” New York Yankees.
On-stage, the student actors brought their characters to life, adeptly delivering the devilishly clever dialog and crushing the high-energy song and dance numbers with the skill of seasoned Broadway stars.
Accompanying the on-stage action was an orchestra of Herricks student musicians, who performed soundtrack with perfection. From the first notes of the overture to the grand finale, the music set a spectacular tone and brought vitality and emotion to the performance.
Behind the scenes, the stage crew operated with precision, offering a rich tapestry of lights and sound that offered audiences an immersive theater experience.
We are proud to recognize the entire team of faculty and students and the time, effort and talent that went into this incredible production.
