Herricks High School Celebrates 36 National Merit Commended Students

Herricks High School is proud to announce that 36 seniors have been recognized as Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, an honor that places them among the nation’s highest-achieving students.

Commended Students earned exceptional scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, taken during their junior year. Their performance distinguished them as some of the top scorers in the country and reflects a strong commitment to academic achievement.

The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes students across the nation for their outstanding academic promise. Being named a Commended Student is a significant accomplishment and highlights the dedication, perseverance and intellectual curiosity these students have demonstrated throughout their educational careers.

The district congratulates these outstanding seniors on this well-deserved recognition. Their achievement reflects not only their individual commitment to learning, but also the culture of excellence that defines the Herricks community. The district wishes these students continued success as they pursue their goals and make meaningful contributions in the years ahead.
