Twelve Herricks High School Students Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

Herricks Public Schools congratulates twelve students from the Herricks High School Class of 2027 who have been named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists are:

  • Amrit Arora
  • Marseille Chin
  • Regina Choi
  • Adishree Das
  • Loucas Dong
  • Tristan Edwards
  • Caroline Kim
  • Claire Lee
  • Matthew Liu
  • Tristan Tuballes
  • Wenshu Wang
  • Madelyn Wong

The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement. Semifinalists are selected based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and represent less than one percent of high school seniors nationwide.

These twelve students are among approximately 16,000 semifinalists chosen from more than 1.3 million entrants across the country. Their achievement reflects years of academic dedication and excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

As part of the competition, semifinalists will complete an application detailing their academic accomplishments, leadership experiences, school and community involvement, and other achievements. Finalists will be announced in the coming months, with scholarship recipients recognized in the spring.

The district congratulates these outstanding students on this well-deserved honor and wishes them continued success in the National Merit Scholarship competition.
