The Herricks faithful turned out in force on Sept. 18 as students, families, staff, alumni and community members gathered at Herricks High School for the district's annual Homecoming celebration and football game.
Festivities began with the traditional Homecoming parade, led by the Herricks High School band and cheerleading team. Students, staff and families representing all five district schools proudly made their way onto the track, creating a sea of blue and showcasing the pride and spirit that define Herricks.
Adding to the excitement, numerous Herricks High School clubs were represented throughout the event, engaging attendees with games, prizes, performances, face painting, temporary tattoos and other activities. The club fair atmosphere provided opportunities for students and families to connect while highlighting the wide range of programs and extracurricular experiences available at Herricks.
Before kickoff, senior members of the football and cheerleading programs were recognized alongside their families, celebrating their dedication, leadership and contributions to Herricks throughout their high school careers.
The excitement continued throughout the game as Highlander fans filled the stands with energy and enthusiasm. Halftime featured performances by the cheerleaders and the Herricks Dance Theatre Club, recognition of the championship boys soccer and girls flag football teams, and the introduction of the 2026 Highlander 10, a group of seniors nominated by their peers for their leadership, character and involvement in school life.
From the parade and halftime performances to the sea of smiles throughout the packed stands, Homecoming once again showcased the traditions and school spirit that make Herricks a special place. The celebration brought together generations of Highlanders for an evening filled with pride, connection and memorable moments.
