  • Seasonal Flu:  A Guide for Parents

    Our school nurses offer the advice and reminders below to reduce the risk of illness among our students, particularly during the winter months.

    The school nurse at your child’s school will contact you if your child becomes ill while in school. It is advisable to consider consulting your private physician if your child has any of the following symptoms:

    • Elevated temperature
    • Reddened or discharging eyes
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Enlarged glands
    • Skin eruptions/rash
    • Ear ache
    • Diarrhea
    • Dizziness
    • Coughing
    • Sore throat

    If your child becomes ill at school, it is the parent /guardian’s responsibility to arrange transportation for his or her ill child. The child will be released only to those individuals listed on the emergency cards.
