Each of the courses within the Art Department meet the New York State Learning Standards for the
Arts.
Studio in Art fulfills the graduation requirement for 1 credit in Art/Music, as does Design and
Drawing for Production in the Technology Department. Studio in Art is required as the foundation
course in art, and serves as a prerequisite for many of the advanced courses.
While Art electives may be combined according to individual needs, students may find the
following recommendations helpful in developing a program of study in the visual arts.
