PSAT Registration

  • The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholastic Qualifying Test) will be given on Saturday, October 14, 2023.  This year, the PSAT will be given digitally by the College Board.  There will be no paper version of the PSAT this school year.

We are reaching out to students and parents, as there is very important information that you must know.  Any student interested in taking the PSAT in 10th or 11th grade must register between August 7 through August 31, 2023.  Late registration will not be permitted as per College Board.

To register for this exam, please go to the following link to sign up and pay for the PSAT, opening on August 7, 2023, and closing on August 31, 2023:

    https://aptsusa.com/herricks/

The cost of the PSAT/NMSQT is $28.00.  The Counseling Center will not be accepting checks or in-person payments.  Students and parents will receive information about test day administration via email, closer to the exam date.  To be allowed entrance to the exam, students must register and pay at the link above.

If you are a student who is/will be requesting test modifications, due to a 504 plan or an IEP document, for the PSAT, SAT, and/or Advanced Placement examinations, you must have an SSD form on file.  If you have not yet filed the SSD Student Eligibility form, please see your school counselor immediately.

Results from the PSAT/NMSQT will be available on the student’s College Board account in mid-December.  The results will help students to sharpen their skills in the content areas tested and potentially provide competitive status for the National Merit Scholarship Award.  For further information about the PSAT/NMSQT, please visit https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10.

Please Note:  If you have questions regarding a timeline for when to start preparing for and taking SAT/ACT exams, please contact your school counselor for guidance.  See the important information below about the new digital PSAT.
