I grew up in Hicksville with my parents, my older brother John, and my younger sister Danielle. I went to high school at Holy Trinity and went to college at Hofstra University. I earned my BA in Physics and my MA in Secondary Education for Science. I started working at Herricks in September of 2005. Before Herricks, I worked as a substitute teacher in the Bellmore-Merrick district.
My husband and I welcomed our first child - our daughter Emily - into the world on June 22, 2013. Our son, Jeremy, was born on June 10, 2015. Our children are our pride and joy.
I love to travel! I recently completed my life-goal of visiting all 50 states. Now I'm on to the next goal: visitng all seven continents - only three to go!
I enjoy reading fairytales. My favorite books are Stardust and The Princess Bride. (Both of which are also two of my favorite movies!) I am also a big Harry Potter fan! I love Disney movies - my favorite is Sleeping Beauty. My favorite foods are french fries and ice cream, and my favorite colors are pink and green.
I've wanted to be a teacher my entire life. My parents set up a chalk board and school desks in my basement and I would teach my little sister everything I knew.
I am looking forward to working with my students and their parents this school year.
Have a great year, everyone!
