    Extra Help:

    Every Tuesday after school in room 508.

     

     

    Test Day:

    Science testing day is Wednesday. 

     

     

    Labs:

    Earth Science class is unique in that we have a lab day

     

     

    Progress Reports:

    Every student receives a progress report about half way through every quarter.  Students are expected to have progress reports signed and returned to me the day after the students receive the progress reports.

     

     

    Tests:

    Tests and quizzes are usually made up of former Regents Exam questions from previous years.  Quizzes are almost always entirely multiple choice.  Tests are usually ¾ multiple choice and ¼ free response.

     

     

    Mideterm:

    The midterm takes place during midterm week which is usually the last week in January.  The midterm exam is 100 multiple choice questions and students have 2 hours to complete the exam.

     

     

    Regents Exam:

    The Regents Exam is a state test that all Earth Science students must complete at the end of the course.  The Regents Exam is cumulative of all the topics covered in Earth Science throughout the entire year.  In order to get credit for this course your child must pass the Regents Examination in Earth Science.   In addition to the Regents Examination being the final exam for this course, it will also be worth 20% of your child’s final grade in this course. 

     

     

    Reference Tables:

    For this course your child is always entitled to use a copy of the Earth Science Reference Tables.  The Earth Science Reference Tables are 16 pages of tables and charts that students must use in order to complete certain tasks in Earth Science.  Students are always permitted to use the Earth Science Reference Tables on Tests, Quizzes and the Regents Exam in Earth Science.
