The Herricks Public Schools was ranked No. 7 on Niche.com’s list of Best School Districts in the State of New York out of 672 districts. Herricks is No. 5 among those listed from Long Island and received an overall Niche grade of A+.

Herricks Homecoming Celebrates School-Community Connection
Herricks High School’s field was glowing with exhilaration as students, staff members and residents rejoiced in being together for the Sept. 17 Homecoming festivities. The Highlanders faced off against Long Beach in an action-packed game, and cheerleaders and spectators supported their home team with enthusiasm.

Herricks Musicians Earn 17 All-State Acceptances
Herricks High School is proud to announce that student musicians have earned a total of 17 All-State acceptances. Their talents will be featured at the New York State School Music Association’s Winter Music Conference, which will be held in Rochester in December.

Herricks High School senior Keneil Soni has earned a Scholar Artist Award from the Long Island Arts Alliance. He is one of four honorees in the music category.

Nine Herricks High School Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists
Herricks High School is proud to congratulate nine seniors that have been named National Merit Semifinalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Chloe Chang, Amber Joneleit, Wafiq Khondkar, Roshni Patel, Pranati Patnam, Lamiya Randwala, Keneil Soni, Olivia Teng and Kyla Ye are among approximately 16,000 semifinalists selected nationally from an estimated 1.5 million who entered the academic competition upon taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors.

Searingtown School Congratulates Published Third-Grade Author
Searingtown School third grade student Sahil Jhaveri accomplished what many people, including experienced adult writers, consider a lofty goal when he wrote and published his own book, which is now sold on Amazon. Sahil dedicated many months last year to bringing his ideas to life on the pages of “Adventures of Super Chicken” and as a result, is able to take readers on an exciting journey.

Starting Out Strong in Herricks
Herricks Public Schools students and staff members kicked off the 2021-22 school year stronger than ever on Aug. 31, when doors opened for a year of learning and growth. Students will benefit from upgraded technology and integration of new resources into all aspects of the curriculum as the district leverages skills and advancements that were made in light of the pandemic.
