As an elementary school social worker I available for individual, group, and family consultation, staff consultation, home visits and as a liaison with community agencies and resources. Social workers are involved with parents/guardians, students and other school staff in educational programs, teaching curriculum units dealing with personal safety and coping with stress and also conducts parenting and student groups. Students can be referred to me by teachers, the RTI team, administrators, parents or self-referral. It is important to know that I am here for every student.
