• Searingcott Medal Awards Announced!

    Second graders became picture book judges for Searingtown library's "Searingcott Award" an annual award based on the American Library Association's Caldecott Award. Students read and evaluated several picture books, voted for their favorites, and entered our medal design contest.

  • MS Students Bring Home Gold From the AlKafus Long Island Math Fair

    We are very proud of the outstanding work of the Herricks Middle School students who participated in the AlKafus Long Island Math Fair. Our students researched Math topics and did an amazing job presenting their work to the judges. We are also grateful for the dedication and passion of our Math teachers, especially Stacy Hart and Alyssa Khan who have spent countless hours working with our students on their presentations.

  • Herricks Moves Forward in History Day Competition

    The students who represented the district at the state level produced a variety of projects that had already won at the LI Regional Level held at Hofstra University in March, and thus earned the honor of moving forward to the state competition in Cooperstown, NY. Once again, both Herricks High School and Middle School performed at exceptionally high levels and with great results. Each project that finished in either first or second place will represent New York State in the national competition, which will be held in College Park, Maryland in June.

  • Herricks Maintains Best Community for Music Title

    The Herricks Public Schools have again been honored with the NAMM Foundation’s Best Communities for Music Education Districts are selected based on their outstanding dedication to music education and ability to demonstrate achievement in efforts to provide music access to all students.

  • Herricks Math Marvels

    Achievements multiplied for Herricks schools throughout the winter months, when numerous students earned awards and recognitions in mathematics competitions and events. Several groups from Herricks Middle school as well as Herricks High School have participated in and placed highly in a variety of challenges.

  • Herricks Student Advances to Intel International Science and Engineering Fair

    Science Research student Eish Maheshwari has advanced from the regional competitions to compete on the international level at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Eish, a junior, won First Place in his category of Translational Medicine at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair held on March 15, and also received the Yale Scientist Award.
