• SEPTA Honors Peer Advocates

    The Herricks Public Schools’ Special Education Parent Teachers Association (SEPTA) held its annual Peer Advocates Night on March 19. This event recognizes students from each of the district’s school buildings who go above and beyond to make a difference for their peers, including those with special needs.

  • STEM Club Team Named International Finalist

    Nine Herricks High School STEM Club teams participated in the Conrad International Spirit of Innovation Challenge and became semi-finalists, and one of the groups has reached the finals round. For this international competition, students work together in teams of 2-5 members to develop solutions to some of the world's most complex problems.

  • Herricks Musicians Perform at LISFA Festival

    From March 2-4, the Long Island String Festival Association (LISFA) sponsored its annual Elementary Festival. After many hours of rehearsal with prominent conductors, Herricks students in grades 5-8 performed at Uniondale High School among Nassau County’s finest string musicians.

    Herricks High School’s Mock Trial team completed their season on March 5 in a very close match against Sacred Heart Academy.

  • Herricks HS Senior Named Nassau County Art Award Winner

    Herricks High School senior Jacqueline Lewittes has been selected as the winner of the 2018 Nassau County Art Supervisors Association Senior Art Scholarship Award. This distinction is presented annually to a deserving senior who has consistently demonstrated exemplary talent and passion in two-dimensional visual art forms.

    Six Herricks High School students were recognized with Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. They collectively earned three Gold Key, a Silver Key and two Honorable Mention distinctions.
