    Herricks High School Named a National Blue Ribbon School In an announcement that was officially presented by the United States Department of Education on Sept. 28, Herricks High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2017. Herricks was recognized for academic excellence as a high-performing school – one of two possible grounds for selection. The other is the ability to close achievement gaps among student subgroups.

  • Herricks HS Introduces Valedictorian and Salutatorian

    Herricks High School has announced seniors Esme Chen and Janet Hsu as the Class of 2018 valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively. The district is proud to congratulate them for earning these highly sought-after titles that can only be obtained through impressive levels of academic effort and commitment. Both students are actively involved in their school and community and have already achieved many successes.

  • Six Siemens Semifinalists!

    Six Herricks High School juniors and seniors have been named semifinalists in the 2017 Siemens Competition in math, science and technology, and two were recognized as finalists. Shifa Ali, Christina Kim, Joanna Lau, Ryan Hou, Rushi Patel and Sahith Vadada earned the outstanding semifinalist distinction, and Rushi and Sahith, along with their team member Vedant Singh from Wheatley School, advanced to take the elite Regional Finalist title.

    The Oct. 5 Herricks Public Schools Board of Education Meeting featured recognitions of many talented and dedicated high school students. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Fino Celano and members of the Board congratulated seven National Merit Semifinalists and a number of talented and accomplished musicians.

    Herricks High School is proud to congratulate 24 seniors that have been identified as Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program. This academic competition was initiated in 1955 as a way to provide students with opportunities to receive recognition for their scholastic talents.
