• Emilio Gonzalez began his teaching career in Brentwood School District in Suffolk County as a Bilingual Substitute teacher.  He then worked as an elementary school science teacher and ENL teacher in the New York City Department of Education at P.S. 249 in Flatbush, Brooklyn.  Mr. Gonzalez has worked in Herricks for ten years as the 4th Grade Spanish Language Immersion teacher and is certified to teach Elementary School grades, ENL, and Bilingual (Spanish) to primary grade students.  Spanish is his native (first) language and he studied Spanish Literature and Political Science as an undergraduate student at Binghamton University.  He studied ENL and Education at St. Johns University where he graduated with a Masters of Arts in Education.  Teaching is Mr. Gonzalez's second career as he was formerly employed as a risk analyst in the financial services industry for five years.   Mr. Gonzalez graduated with an Advanced Diploma in School Administration and Instructional Technology from NYIT in January 2022.
