  • Denton Students Participate in Jump Rope for Heart 2022

    The intermediate students at Denton Avenue School participated in the 2022 Jump Rope for Heart contest under the supervision of physical education teachers, Mike Lesak and Debbie Masterson.

  • Denton Avenue School’s Ukraine Donation Drive Was a Huge Success

    The Denton Avenue donation drive for the people of the Ukraine was a tremendous success.  Our community’s support was overwhelming with donations of food, clothing and medical supplies..  The Denton Student Council students along with its advisor, Mrs. Roulett, and the Human Relations Club with its advisor, Mrs. Manning, separated and boxed all the items that were so generously received. Two truckloads of donations were delivered to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church in Riverhead, NY with the help of Mr. Roulett.  It truly takes a village!

  • Denton Students Collect Toys 4 Tots!

    Denton Avenue’s Human Relations club and Student Council collected new and unwrapped toys for the Marine Toys 4 Tots program. Denton families demonstrated incredible support for the program and generosity donated 6 full boxes of toys. Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children in need.

  • Denton Student Council Co-Presidents Elected

    On Tuesday, Nov. 23, candidates for student council co-presidents at Denton Avenue Elementary School delivered speeches to their fellow students. Candidates expressed their vision for Denton Avenue and what positive changes they would put forth. Students were poised as they delivered thoughtful and dynamic speeches. Fifth graders voiced their choices on the same day through the voting process. Congratulations to all who participated and to newly elected co-presidents, Mario and Gavin.

  • Denton Avenue Human Relations Club & Student Council Donation Drive

    The Denton Avenue Human Relations Club and Student Council ran a donation drive to collect drinks and snacks for children on Long Island through The Mary Brennan Inn in Hempstead, NY. Students and families donated chips, granola bars, fruit cups, water bottles and juice boxes. The students helped assemble snack bags. Denton students collected over 200 Snack Bags to donate.
