Welcome to Orchestra!
We have an exciting year ahead! I'm looking forward to seeing all of the 4th & 5th graders again in addition to welcoming our 3rd grade beginners. Please check parent emails for information on lessons and rehearsals. ALL students AND parents are invited to join their assigned Google Orchestra Classroom. I'll be posting all assignments and notices there. Please have your child get into the habit of logging in to the Orchestra Google Classroom daily and I encourage you to log in with them as well.

How can you prepare?

Place your folder in your backpack the night before a lesson/rehearsal and put your instrument by your backpack so it won't be forgotten at home.

Practice the music that I teach you in lessons/rehearsals. We do a little part each week. Practice and master those parts when you go home.

Attend the lessons/rehearsals so you don't miss work or fall behind.
We take great pride in our Orchestra Program at Searingtown School. The Searingtown School Orchestra consistently earns the highest grade of "GOLD with DISTINCTION" at NYSSMA Majors . What does this mean? A Gold rating is awarded to organizations that have demonstrated an outstanding level of technical and artistic skill in each of the evaluative categories for all three selections performed. "With DISTINCTION" is awaded to those organizations that qualify for a Gold rating while having achieved a standard of performance deemed exceptional in all three selections performed.
