  • January 20, 2022 Board of Education Meeting

    The January 20, 2022 Board of Education Meeting will be held in-person and via live stream. The meeting will take place in the Community Center Cafeteria at 7:30pm and will include Outstanding Student Recognition. The meeting will also include a Building Condition Survey Presentation by BBS Architects.

    "Second-grade students in Veronica Carbajal's classroom at Denton Avenue School in New Hyde Park appeared to be like any other group, only they were learning addition and subtraction problems in a foreign language: Spanish."

  • Herricks Middle School Places Third on Long Island on U.S. News & World Report

    In new ranking results announced by U.S. News & World Report, Herricks Middle School placed among the top middle schools in New York State at No. 29 and is No. 3 out of those from Long Island. The building’s reading and math performance data was described as “Well Above Expectation” by the publication.

  • Herricks Introduces Seal of Biliteracy Opportunity

    The Herricks Public Schools is excited to announce that students will now have the opportunity to achieve the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB). The NYSSB recognizes students who develop high levels of proficiency in English and one or more world languages.

  • Herricks Ranked No. 7 School District in the State by Niche.com

    The Herricks Public Schools was ranked No. 7 on Niche.com’s list of Best School Districts in the State of New York out of 672 districts. Herricks is No. 5 among those listed from Long Island and received an overall Niche grade of A+.

  • Herricks Reaches New Heights

    Herricks High School has ranked highly on U.S. News and World Report’s 2021 list of Best High Schools. The high school has moved up to No. 5 on Long Island, No. 33 in New York State and No. 276 in the nation compared to No. 6, No. 43 and No. 412 in 2019 when the list was last published. Herricks is among the top 2% of 24,000 high schools rated nationwide.
