Dear Herricks Parents/Guardians/Staff,
Herricks Public Schools is joining in with six other North Shore school districts in partnership with Northwell Health to support the mental health needs of our students, families, staff and community. The Herricks-Northwell Behavioral Health Partnership will formally begin this coming July. This valuable and well needed resource will provide mental health services, resources, workshops and informational sessions. In addition to supports in the schools, a Behavioral Health Center will be opening in Mineola which will provide families and students with access to crisis intervention and collaborative support services/referrals to families in need.
Through this partnership with Northwell Health, our students, parents/guardians, and school staff, will also benefit from educational series on topics such as school refusal, anxiety, grief and loss, mindfulness, suicide assessment and social justice, to name a few. As May is National Mental Health Awareness Month, this could not come at a better time to provide families with this information! Attached you will find a flyer with upcoming education sessions open to the community. Feel free to sign up for any and all you may be interested in.
We have dedicated this space on the District website to the Herricks-Northwell Behavioral Health Partnership with more detailed information. We will keep this site up to date with resources, presentations, description of services, contact information and more.
We hope that you will take advantage of this resource and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact either Lois Jankeloff at firstname.lastname@example.org or Natasha Khan at email@example.com.
Thank you and stay well!
