Miss Tara Kilkelly, LMSW

My name is Miss Kilkelly and I am your newest high school social worker! You can find me in the Counseling and Wellness Center.

What is a school social worker? I am a trained mental health professional, here to support your wellbeing. I am a safe, trusted adult that you can come to whenever you need help and guidance. I am a person on your side, rooting for you to succeed in school! I am a support and an advocate for your emotional, social, academic and safety needs in school. I am also an integral link between school, home, and the community. You may see me in individual, group or school-wide sessions. I also can coordinate with your teachers, parents, and community resources, to help you feel your best.

Why would someone see our school social workers? Reasons to see your school social workers may include: having difficulties adjusting to recent life changes, mental health and behavior changes, academic pressure, coping with stress, difficulties socializing, grief, COVID-19 stressors, loss of basic needs (food, clothing, etc.), difficulties regularly participating in academics, friendship stress, and many more. I am here to listen to you, help you recognize your strengths, and teach you helpful tools to cope with stress. We are in this together. Asking for help is a sign of strength.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me! I am here for you. 516-305-8765
