Welcome to the

Collaborative Corner!

To collaborate means to work together.

Spring has finally arrived.  It began cold but it looks like we're finally moving into warmer weather. Find out how global warming created the strange start to our spring.  It's an important topic for us all to understand.

In reading, our websites and podcasts are finished.  Check the side bar to hear the podcasts and see student's original work.  This was an amazing project and all the children should be very proud!

In math, we are well into our probability unit, putting everything we can think of onto our likelihood line.  See the sidebar on probability for some great sites and check out the funny probability video.

We have begun our unit on the Industrial Revolution.  We have learned about the start of the American Industrial Revolution, all due to an industrial spy!  I wonder what England thinks about Samuel Slater?  Maybe an online search in the UK sites could tell us more.

Our Tall Tale skits were exciting and enjoyable, as well as educational.  Check out the videos on the side bar.  And our Poetry Read went exceedingly well.  The students worked very hard to learn how to present their original work and recite selected poems.  BRAVO!  The pictures are online.  Enjoy.

Mrs. Parisi and Ms. Southard, along with Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Rosenman went to an incredible 2-day conference on Science and Technology in Education.  We heard from Former Vice President Al Gore, Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, Education Expert Mel Levine, Technology Expert Alan November, Former Astronaut Mae Jemisen, and Meet the Press Host Tim Russert, among other distinguished speakers, including Elmo!  It was enlightening and energizing.  Stay tuned for some innovative ideas to come out of this conference.

Keep questioning everything!  It's the only way to learn.
