My Name is Yoon Difficulty: Easy Reading You are important; you are capable, SO READ THIS BOOK. My Name is Yoon is a very good book. The author of this book is Helen Recorvits and the illustrator is Gabi Swiatkowska. This is a great realistic fiction book and a wonderful picture book. In this book a young girl moves to America from Korea. She loves the way her Korean name looks in Korean, but she must learn to write her name in English (Yoon). When she moves to America she misses her home country and her friends. Yoon also has to start a new school, but most of all she must learn that change is a good thing. I understand what Yoon went through because I went through a similar situation in my life when I started Hebrew school and got my Hebrew name. Unlike Yoon, I liked my Hebrew name!! The author of this book lives in Glocester, Rhode Island which is not too far from here. Helen also wrote two other books which are Yoon and the Christmas Mitten and Where Heroes Hide. If you liked my review read this book, because I know you can. By Danielle
